August 8 is Vore Day!

In one month, our humble community will be in the midst of a holiday we can call our own: Vore Day!

What is Vore Day?

For those of you who don't know about it, Vore Day was born out of a double pun (8/8, as in 7-8-9, plus Houyo points out the Japanese date sounding like stomach growl onomatopoeia) that the Japan-based Pixiv community turned into a day of celebration of vore, what they called marunomi no hi (丸呑みの日).

It was brought to the rest of the vore community in 2014, when crazyasianfan4 called for members of Eka's Portal and DeviantArt to spread the word about it and create stunning work in celebration of this useful universal trope.

This year marks the 3rd annual Vore Day Showcase Stream run by HarekAVI, where your works may be featured in a 24-hour montage along with movies, music, and special multistream guests! Click here to sign up for free to the event on Picarto, and keep an eye out for updates.

What can I do?

If you haven't already, join us on any of our Discord servers! We'll be hosting a lot of streams, chats, and other events around the vore community, and most of them will take advantage of our server. Feel free to pop in anytime! Who knows, you might have a chance to finally chat with folks you admire in the community.

Next, when the day is upon us, we'll be monitoring DeviantArt uploads with the #voreday tag and showcasing them in a special folder under Favorites!

Then, check out De-Vore's 30 Day Vore Challenge. There's no obligation to conform to the rules, so if you're looking for something quick, you can use it as an inspiration. If you're not feeling up for drawing that long, you can even use the themes as a guide to showcase your existing work per day on your gallery page to share in the love!

Also, feel free to suggest ideas for making Vore Day extra special! We'll share any sorts of streams, game sessions, chats, contests, raffles, lotteries, or whatever else that you'd like to run. We can even help you set them up and promote them!

Finally, just spread the word! Our community is a lot larger than you might imagine at first glance, and there are a lot of folks on other sites who would definitely enjoy taking part.
